Call, describe, decide
Chicago buildings are not all the same, and the lock tells the story. A brick bungalow in Chatham has a single front door and a side door to the gangway. A Lakeview three-flat has a shared vestibule, three unit doors and a back stair. A Loop tower has a fob reader and a building engineer.
So the call matters. Dispatch asks for the cross streets, what kind of lock it is and what happened. You get an approximate estimate from that description. A locksmith is sent, looks at the real lock and confirms the price before any work starts.
